Two steps forward, one step back

(my new coat- leather with wool on the inside!)

I think I mentioned in one of my past emails that we are now in the strange part of the year where the weather can't make up its mind what to do. The previous melts turned to ice, which caused havoc on the roads. Cars off the roads, people falling, etc. Then the winds came. Then the snow joined the wind.

The snows started yesterday afternoon and continued through the night. Drifts up to 1.5-2 feet in places. Its hard to tell how much exactly we got because of the wind. Of course, the pictures don't do justice. I've attached a video of yesterday afternoon that shows the force of the winds.

I've mentioned this too, but never documented it. Throughout the winters, outhouses need to be shoveled out, so you can open the door. Gambrill poses with the shovel here.

Who is glad they have indoor plumbing?

The wind and snow has continued today. The snow just stopped (11:40am) but there are clouds looming in the distance, so we'll see. The wind however continues.
