Things are warming up. Things are melting. Things are turning into a mess. There are three seasons in Karkaraly- snow, summer, and mud. We are in the transition into the mud phase of life. This will will last steady until the beginning of June, sometimes dryer than others, sometimes muddier than others. For instance, we are supposed to get snow off and on the rest of the week, starting tomorrow. By Saturday it should be around +6F (which still feels warm...but proof that it will get cold, then warm, then cold, until June).

The picture below may look impressive, but the snow has melted significantly since a month ago. I should have taken pictures of it then, but I didn't. But still lots to go. :)
The coal burning plant that heats many apartment blocs and the school (theoretically), was cleaning out all its coal dust.
I made a mistake with the sheep head in my last post. That wasn't for today (Women's Day)- it is for Nauryz, which is KZ's biggest holiday in a week or so. Hopefully the snow will be mostly gone by then, so the festivities will be nice. Last years was cancelled do to the cold and ice.
Although Spring will take a long time to get here, and it will feel like winter off and on until June 1, it sure feels nice to have a little warmth and temps above freezing!
