My plans for going into Karaganda, the big city, changed last nights as the snows kept falling. Rumors of road closures were abound and I decided it best to not chance getting stuck. The roads were open as it turned out, but I was glad I made the decision I did. I decided instead to show off Karkaraly a little more...and what better way than in the snow. It is hard to tell how much we got because it was windy, but I suspect we got around 4-5 inches last night.
My building and all the buildings around have the pleasure of being coal fed. My window looks out over the smoke stacks-ha. But we stay nice and warm, so that is the upside.
Many of the homes in Karkaraly are old wooden ones- very pretty.

Gambrill's place...all snowed in.
This is Barboz- Gambrill's family dog. Looks cold doesn't he?
