A long cold night
Yesterday was the winter solstice, the longest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. That night ushered in 6-7 inches of fresh snow. When I sludged my way to work this morning it wasn't too far below freezing- cold but not too cold. But each hour the temp fell. Its 7:30pm and its -25.6 degrees Fahrenheit outside (-32 Celsius). And the temperature is still falling. Schools have already been cancelled for tomorrow. I was just outside and the sky is full of stars, meaning its going to get even colder.
