Dec. 16th is Kazakhstan's Independence Day. Its a two day holiday, so the 17th is free too. I had 3 or 4 ghosti trips (which is visiting someone else), where I stuffed myself silly on lamb, horse, beef and chicken...not to mention countless bread products, candies and cakes. It was a gluttonfest and I physically ate more than I thought was possible.On the 17th, I went sledding with Gambrill's family. Here are a few pictures.
On the 16th, I went to a concert at the towns Cultural House. Here are a couple of videos of traditional Kazakh song and dance. The concert was very good and has gotten attention in the past and even traveled abroad.
