Last Friday was my old host brother, Alishair's, 5th birthday. I took some gifts to him: clown noses (he is actually smiling in the photo below but the nose is too big and covers his mouth), the animated movie Tarzan, and a few action toys (thanks to James- a friend back home).

I walked up to Lake Shaitankol on Friday as well. Here are a few shots along the way.
I do my best sometimes to show the areas without the trash and graffiti. But as you can see in the picture below, it plays a prominent role in any excursion into the mountains here.
I forgot to post this. On Oct 6th, we got our first dusting. As you can see below, it wasn't much. But the date marked 4 months and 14 days without snow. And much of the summer was chilly too. I'd say we probably only had 1.5 months of actual warm weather. The rest was cool or cold.
