Yesterday was slow in the afternoon so I went over and talked to the woodworkers at the park. They turn out bowls and cups on the lathe and then hard carve the designs. It is really good work. I asked him if he liked his job and he said he did. He's been carving designs in these bowls for 18 years. Its nice and quiet- would be a relaxing job!

After they've been finished, the park sells them as merchandise. I think they are wonderful items- each hand carved. 
Some get painted. Although pretty, I like the natural wood ones better.
