Took a trip up to Congaree National Park, in South Carolina earlier in the week. It is a swamp land, though it is the dry season now. In the wet season, everything is under water and you see the park by canoe. But this time of year, it was a nice walk through the forest.
The park is famous for having the largest contiguous (sharing common border) area of old growth bottomland hardwood forest remaining in the US. I know that's a mouthful- basically it means there are lots of big trees. Huge cypress, oak, and pine trees.
