After much searching I found a new home. Today I got internet, so I thought I would waste little time in showing you my new digs. I live with Gazin (man) and Karlagash (woman). They are both retired doctors. They have 4 grown kids, three of which live in other cities. They seem really nice so far and I'm optimistic that it will work out longer than the last one.
Here is my room. You can see that it is pretty big. I have a couch, which is nice for movie watching.

The washing machine is a nice feature- especially after my last washing experience (destroyed shirts).

Its back to the land of indoor toilets that may or may not have water! Ha. I'm not complaining. The outhouse isn't too bad- honest. But it is nice to have an indoor when you have to use the bathroom at night. I'll still have to pay to go to the banya once a week, as I don't think we have hot water for the tub.

Here is our heating system. The house is pretty big, so they've designed it so that the stove will heat the radiators in the room.

No Kazakh house is complete without a scary dog. This is my new friend...sort of. I bought it meat the other day as a first step. He still tries to eat me every time I walk by. He has a bum leg which doesn't help his disposition any.

On a side note, I thought I would share this. It has been going around the volunteers in the past week or so: http://www.kazakh-land.com/.
It is a Kazakh themed ethnic park in Malibu, CA. The thing I found interesting was in the "Pictures of the Park" section. They opted to only share 4 pictures of the park itself and then filled up the rest of the page with pictures of KZ. Want to know how I know?? The 5th picture is Lake Shaitankol- in my park!! So don't expect to see that in Malibu!
