Spinach

The spinach crop is in and big.  The other night Gambrill and I treated her family to a salad, american style. We splurged on some good vinegar and olive oil.  Gambrill made the dressing and I fried up some chicken to go on top of the salad.

This is a big bowl and only a tiny portion of our spinach. I don't think we can eat it all, considering how little greens people eat here. It just isn't normal to eat a salad with lettuce or spinach.

Here I am cutting up the veggies with my new Alaskan knife!  It worked great and made cutting a lot of fun!  

The salad was good and everyone enjoyed it. It was nice to have something that tasted like home...and nice to throw off the monotony of potatoes and soup.
