I went to Karaganda this weekend. Some volunteers were getting together to go out to eat and Gambrill and I went in. I needed a breather from site. While I was there I was walking through the bazzar and came across a hat stand. The guy that sold this hat to me was really nice and funny. I didn't go there planning on buying one but once I put it on I couldn't resist. The hat was made in St. Petersburg, Russia and is made from seal fur. Needless to say its warm. I'm not used to seeing myself in a tall hat, but I'm getting used to it. Its comfortable. It was a little spendy but I figure this is the type of hat that I'll have forever if I take care of it, so I didn't worry too much about the price.
The same guy that sold this too me is going to sow me up some nice fur winter boots and I'll go back in September and check them out. All I need is a nice wool overcoat and I'll be set (which I'll look for in Almaty)!
Bring it on winter!!
