Nature Museum 3D

nat%20mus%20design.jpg

I've just about finished the outside of my 3D rendering of the park's nature museum. There are a few things on the back that I still need to do, but I thought I'd share it anyway. The park is interested in developing some exhibits around the outside of the museum, as well as completely redoing the inside. I'm not sure how much we'll use this, but I thought it may give them an idea of what the exhibits could look like before they actually complete them. We'll see. This is pretty much what the museum looks like. I took a few liberties in areas of the roof that I hadn't seen and I goofed on the overhang on the roof (and didn't feel like redoing the entire roof), but as you can see in the picture below...its pretty much it. The angles are a little different, so mine looks longer- but its to scale.

If you haven't messed around with Google Sketchup, its pretty cool. It took me several days to do this.  For those of you in the construction business, it may give you ideas or help you on rainy days.  It's a free download from google. This is also how google earth gets its 3D buildings.  So if you want to make your town 3D- go at it!  Just one of the many google programs that are wonderful for PC volunteers.
